Today, 20 October 2016, is World Values Day.
AT NN, our values ‘we care, we are clear, we commit’ are the guiding principles by which we seek to fulfil our purpose to help people secure their financial futures.
We take our values very seriously, as they enable us to build and maintain trust with our stakeholders and bring our brand promise ‘You matter’ to life. Our values are not voluntary suggestions; they apply to each and every employee.
As part of our ‘Living our Values’ programme, we developed a ‘serious game’ called the NN Values challenge. It made learning about our values fun, while at the same time sparking some friendly competition. This game allowed our employees – all over NN Group and in twelve languages - to apply our values in different situations, and with respect to various stakeholder groups. This month the NN Value challenge was played by almost 2,000 NN employees, in more than 35.000 games and in all our 18 countries.
The NN Values challenge leads up to our annual NN Values week, this year from 10 until 14 October. During this special week, we paid extra attention to how we live our values, with a special focus on ‘open dialogue’. After all, it is important that employees all feel confident to openly share and discuss dilemmas and their different points of view. During the NN Values week all kind of activities took place in all our business units with a focus on this theme, such as a ‘Cultural Intelligence’ workshop, breakfast sessions with board members, sessions on ‘Navigating your moral compass’ and ‘Care talks’.
