The NN Future Matters scholarship programme was launched in 2015. It offers first generation students with a clear financial need the chance to pursue a Master’s degree. These scholarships are available to students - from 10 selected NN countries - who wish to complete a Master’s programme in the field of Finance, Risk or Economics in the Netherlands. The NN Future Matters scholarship programme, is a collaboration between NN and EP-Nuffic, a Dutch organization working on the internationalisation of (higher) education.
During their Master’s, the students are matched with a mentor from NN, who helps, supports and guides them through the year. In addition to being matched with an NN mentor, the students are invited to follow various workshops organised by NN. NN Future Matters has recently selected students for the NN Future Matters scholarship academic year 2016-2017. To illustrate the NN Future Matters scholarship programme and students, we created a video portrait of scholarship student Maria, who is currently finishing her Master’s in Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
NN Future Matters is NN Group’s overarching Corporate Citizenship Programme. It aims to empower people in the markets where we operate in growing the economic opportunities needed. The objectives of the NN Future Matters programme are designed around three key principles that guide our activities. We aim to foster financial education and empowerment; we aim to create economic opportunities for young people and we aim to support families with children that live in challenging financial circumstances.
At NN it is a priority to build the economic capabilities of today’s young people. We take this social responsibility very seriously, and thus are pleased to offer young people - who are in need of support - access to our means and expertise, in turn helping them create social and economic opportunities. One way in which we do this, is by facilitating scholarships for international Master’s students. This programme gives students the opportunity to simultaneously complete a Master’s programme while gaining the impactful experience of living and studying abroad.
